We’re pleased to say that Bella and Canvas clothing is now featured on the Fifth Column website. We’ve been printing t-shirts in the UK for a long time and being suppliers of Bella + Canvas apparel seems like a good fit. Just like us, they have heritage. Back in 1992, Danny and Marco started screenprinting shirts in their garage. They weren’t happy with the women’s stuff that was available for customisation in the US market and made a decision to shift their focus toward production rather than decoration.

It worked out well. Bella and Canvas prospered and still continue to do so. They have a refreshing take on fabrics and their ethos of retail quality for the personalisation and custom clothing market is one that we share. Fashion for folk who need blank base garments is a tricky business and they’ve turned it into an art form. We like that kind of thinking, especially when it’s combined with an ethical approach. Printing t-shirts is a pleasure when you have good shirts to print. So, let’s get a feel for what Bella + Canvas offer.

Bella + Canvas T-Shirts.

It’s fair to say that Bella + Canvas t-shirts span a broad spectrum. There’s something for everyone. Their blank tees for women are impossible to ignore, but they also produce shirts for men, kids, toddlers and babies. It’s all done with the same flair that they bring to their ladies collection. Plus there are plenty of stand-out styles which are suitable for both genders, always a positive when it comes to the customisation and B2B printing markets. After all, unisex t-shirts have greater versatility, as they can reduce the number of garments that you need to print or embroider to create a full range.

Bella + Canvas t-shirts score high on more than just the age and gender fronts. To really get a feel for their appeal, a genuine flavour of what they do, we need to look at the styles, fabrics and colours.

Bella + Canvas T-Shirt Styles.

Our article on the launch of Bella and Canvas at Fifth Column wouldn’t be complete without giving a special mention to the shirt styles, especially those for women. Fifth Column have been printing t-shirts here in the UK for decades and we get to see a lot of them. As you would expect, Bella + Canvas tees include the basics, enduring classic shapes and fittings, but they also have a knack for producing eye-catching designs. Items like the urban long body shirt and their take on the pocket tee. That skill with style really becomes evident with their women’s garments. Take a look and you’ll see what we mean. There are slim-fitting winners like the Favorite, but also plenty of flowing, flattering drapes. And alongside those, fashionable, on-trend crops. Some fabulous colours, into the bargain. Nuanced shades which are only possible due to the innovative fabrics that Bella and Canvas have developed.

Blend and blend again seems like a pretty sound approach for textile development and Bella + Canvas have that philosophy in spades. It’s an attitude which produces some stunning fabrics. A good number of their shirts are made entirely from Airlume cotton, a premium grade of the material, but this is often combined with polyester, viscose and rayon. You end up with some very interesting results. Beautiful and soft textiles, surfaces which are receptive to printers ink. Bella and Canvas fabrics may not always be the organic cotton that we adore, but that doesn’t stop them from being admirable and produced in a manner that respects environmental values.

So far, we’ve talked a lot about tees. No apologies for that, we love t-shirts, but Bella and Canvas at Fifth Column isn’t limited to their excellent shirts. Amongst other things, they also make a very impressive range of tank tops. Nowadays, tanks, vests & sleeveless tops are big news and come in a variety of shapes and designs. It’s another area in which Bella + Canvas seem to excel without really trying. Their unisex vest tank tops are a lovely balance that can be comfortably worn by either sex and the female styles are varied and inclusive of different body shapes. All of them are made with printing and embroidery in mind.

Let’s not overlook Bella and Canvas street fleece. The hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers are impressive. There’s a laid back, cool feel to them. Street fleece is the perfect term for this collection of garments. Relaxed and effortlessly stylish. Design, colour and fabric play just as big a part in these hooded tops, sweats and pants as it does in the t-shirts. Sponge fleece, Airlume cotton and other materials are mixed with invention and skill to create garments that are going to look good with a logo and be a joy to wear.
