Fifth Column started when a group of friends decided to design and print – by hand – punk rock t-shirts for bands like X-ray Spex, The Clash, The Jam and The Damned. After they created the artwork on paper and cured the t-shirts in tumble dryers at a laundrette on Kilburn High Road, they sold them outside the London gigs.

After they created the artwork on paper and cured the t-shirts in tumble dryers at a laundrette on Kilburn High Road, they sold them outside the London gigs.
Today, those screen-printed t-shirts have become iconic and we at Fifth Column have evolved into one of the country’s top custom garment printers and embroiderers. After 35 years working from a space above the landmark Kentish Town station, we moved to our 11,000 sq ft facility in North London in 2013.
Just like the old days, we’re still a close-knit team driven by an eco-ethical conscience. Our clients range from small t-shirt startups, streetwear brands and breweries to music merchandising companies, cosmetic brands and charities. Our equipment may now be cutting-edge, but we’re as committed to the detail and finish as we’ve always been.
